Real Time Sales Tax Remittance
Quick summary: Requires the Department of Revenue to force certain delinquent sales tax businesses (those owing over $5,000 and with 3+ years of unfiled returns) to use state-approved software.
- The software connects to the business’s POS system and automatically calculates, collects, and remits sales taxes in real time with every sale.
- Department pays for the first year; businesses pay afterward.
- Businesses pick from an approved list of vendors.
- Estimated to affect ~3,000 businesses initially.
